So tell me what you want to hear, we'll take it back through all those years, sick of all the insincere, i'm gonna give all my secrets away.

So, that's the first half of the chorus to a song called "Secrets" by OneRepublic, which I love. I think that the use of the wood instruments, like the violin and cello make the song so much catchier. It was also the "theme" for the movie "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" with Nicholas Cage. I saw that the other day with my wonderful boyfriend, and my friend Winter and her wonderful boyfriend, who is my new official chauffeur for all times after 9 PM, but only because he's such a good sport about it. But when we went to see the movie, we stayed through the ending credits and what song comes on? Alpha Rev's "Phoenix Burn." That's right-I'm amazing. I mentioned that song on here, what? Last year? Exactly. I have undeniable proof from my faithful readers (if there even are any).

So today, I'm going to talk about the oil spill, like EVERYONE ELSE, but I'm going to give you straight up facts.

The reason that they can't fix it yet, is because it's underwater at a level where no scuba diver can get down there, and even if a scuba diver could go that deep, it's dangerous for a plethora of reasons, one of which being the oil itself is flammable, and there are underwater heat pockets at that depth. They also don't have a way of fixing it in general. They can't turn off the oil flow, because it's the off switch that's broken. ANOTHER MYTH- The oil spill has NOT affected the weather of the eastern seaboard AT ALL, so if anyone says that the oil spill is affecting the weather-it's not. Please also note that this is a MAN MADE ISSUE, but it's not from the White House. While they have burned off MUCH of the top level of oil, it's too deep, and there are MILLIONS OF GALLONS of oil at this point, because 26, 543 gallons (plus or minus a few hundred gallons) of oil are being poured into the gulf daily.

Please remember those facts the next time you go to bash the government's way of handling the gulf coast.

Also, the music. If you wanna look at my tumblr too, it's amusicfanatic.tumblr.com.

Like a judas kiss like pleasure and a little pain

So, that title is from Heart's "Black on Black" but that's not even the song I'm listening to at the current moment. That title would be Patent Pending's "This Can't Happen Again". And there is something that can't happen again. GETTING SUNBURNED IN THE SHAPE OF A TRIANGLE ON MY BACK BECAUSE IT'S PAINFUL! LIKE SUPER PAINFUL! Sorry about the outburst there. But yes. OH THE SONG IS CHANGING TO.... Cartel's "Honestly".
Okay, so today I'm going to rant about... nothing. I'm drawing a blank. But the music is what comes here.
SO THE LIST:

  1. That's What She Said-The Friday Night Boys
  2. Hannah-Freelance Whales
  3. Hollywood-Cute is What We Aim For
  4. Sweat the Battle Before the Battle Sweats You- Cute is What We Aim For
So that's about it, other then they're ending Legend of the Seeker, which makes me sad. :(

Sooner than later, I'll need a Saviour

That's a quote from one of my favorite songs at the moment, called "Saviour" by an artist named Lights. She's currently on tour with Owl City. She classifies her music as intergalactic alternative, and she's amazing. I mean, she plays by herself, and she has the perfect blend of techno and alternative music. I mean, I can't say that i normally like the techno genre, but I have to say that I like her. She has some great songs, like "Ice" and "February Air". I think that she's wonderful and super talented.

The only thing I feel like talking about is my ginger. I won't tell you her name, since she'll probably get mad at me, if she ever reads my blog again, but I love her to death. She's not even my best friend anymore; she's my sister. I fight with her, I joke with her, her mom is like my second mom, and the same goes for my mom with her. I love her to death and I absolutely adore her. I mean, I've known her since I was little because she lives right around the corner from me. I mean, she's just like everyone else in the fact that she thinks I put music above her, when in reality, my mind at all times is:Ginger, boys, music, something else that varies, but she always stays the same.

Now, I don't think that I feel like ranting about anything. I know that there's so much I could rant about, but i don't feel like anyone's actually reading this anymore. I mean, if you want to post down on the bottom about anything, comments, questions, for my opinions, whatever; I'll answer you, or I'll refer you to someone who can.

Come sit next to me, you fine fellow

So, I don’t know if I've ever mentioned before that I watch that show Glee? Well, now you all know that I watch it, and I love it. It’s a great show with a catchy story line, great pickup songs, a good cast, and it’s really great to see what a “reality” high school looks like. This week’s episode was so incredible. It showed the downside of the pressures of being perfect. If anyone watched it this week, Mercedes was the main character, and after her and Kurt joined the Cheerios, Sue tells Mercedes that she needs to lose weight in order to stay on the cheerleading team, so Mercedes thinks that the best way to lose all the weight was to starve herself, and the worst part? It’s not uncommon in high school girls, the struggle to be “perfect” is growing ever omnipresent. I mean, they’ve drifted away from anorexia and bulimia to an almost OCD disease where everything that these girls eat is catalogued, from the calories that they eat at every meal, to the time that they ate at. It’s almost disgusting. Marilyn Monroe was a size 14 and she was one of the most iconic women in United States acting, and she was a brilliant woman.

The other thing that I feel I should tell you all about is this guy that I love, whose nickname is Brom, (yes, like the Brom from Eragon) and he’s my personal space heater at track meets. He’s the HUGE Russian that has the best Russian accent, and I love me those Russians, so I told him that he wasn’t allowed to talk in a Russian accent when I was near him. But he’s also one of the nicest kids ever. He’s a freshman, but you defiantly wouldn’t think so if you had met him. Besides, he has a fabulous music taste-he’s just not a music snob like yours truly. XD

Now, I feel as if i need to cover chivalry again. According to the Princeton dictionary, chivalry means “respect towards women”. I mean, is it really that hard to treat a women like she’s equal to a man? Is it that difficult to believe that they’re smart? Is it that hard to believe that women can’t be similar to men? Most of my friends are guys, and I love them all to death, but they talk about women like meat. Would a guy appreciate it if I started at him, like a fresh piece of meat straight off of the grill? I don’t think so. But men still feel the need to do it anyways. I mean, I think that some of the jokes about women being in the kitchen are funny, but if you overdo it, then it’s just cumbersome.

Now, here are the songs that have been running through my mind on this wonderfully sunny and warm day.

  1. Walk on Water or Drown-Mayday Parade
  2. Justify-Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
  3. Lollipop-Mika
  4. Dancing With Tears in My Eyes-Ke$ha
  5. Give a Damn-A Rocket to the Moon
  6. Men in Black(Cover)-Forever the Sickest Kids
  7. Hello Brooklyn-All Time Low

Alright, so again, any comments, questions, anything you want my opinion on, songs, whatever else you can think of, I’m happy to address if you post.

This is what one thinks

When one begins to watch Nick and Disney Channel with the younger siblings. For one thing, I’ve been watching Big Time Rush-you know that new show on Nick? I mean it’s not bad, but i think that some of the stuff that happens on Nick is just so insane and obsolete. I mean, the chances of four guys who play hockey become a big band, or that a girl has to cover for her sister in a school assembly and knows all this choreography and gets invited to join the school. No, life just doesn't happen like that.

I’m going to talk about celebrities today and how they can alter the face of society for the better. For one thing, with the amount of television people watch(myself included) they can mention things that are an actual problem in the world. Instead of building of the image that 1950’s television portrayed, when every family was a suburban middle-class family with three kids, who have every new appliance and all that stuff. They don’t wear new clothes all the time, and they sure as HELL don’t get all these famous people to come and hang out with them. They also don’t have the capacity to get people to watch a web show that's been on for a week.

I’m sure you all know that show Keeping up with the Kardashians, right? They promote a consumerist lifestyle that some people can’t afford and they drink every night, get pregnant before marriage and it doesn't work out. If those three women tried to promote a healthy environment or ways to be eco friendly, the world wouldn’t have these problems. That show is almost pointless, other then to show you what you SHOULDN’T do with your life. If you make a living with a reality TV show, then there’s something wrong with. Not even going to lie here. And I have no problem admitting to watching that show sometimes, but you can take the smallest steps to try to reduce your carbon footprint. Like keep your showers to five minutes, do laundry when you have a full load, recycle anything that has a 1 or 2 on the bottom, turn off the lights in rooms that are empty, leave the water off when your brushing your teeth, eat organically grown foods, shower every other day instead of every day. You can even buy shirts made with organically grown cotton, that feel just like regular shirts.

But enough of the rambling. If you have any questions as to what you can do to help a healthier planet, then feel free to leave a comment at the bottom. ON TO MUSIC!

*twirls in a circle*

You might wonder why I'm so happy, but that's besides the point. The thing is, my robotics team made the world festival in April, which is next month, and we get to go to Atlanta. And then afterwards is this HUGE party that you get to go to, where you get all the free ice cream, soda, food, anything you want! It's so much fun, and I can't wait! And then, the weekend after we get back(I'll be missing 4 days of school for this) a few friends are coming over and we're gonna watch ALL the Lord of the Rings(extended) in a row, so it's 15 1/2 hours of AWESOMENESS!!! So I'm really happy.
The rant for this post is gonna be on science and technology, seeing as how I told you about my robotics competition.
Why is it, that men dominate the scientific field? It doesn't make any sense. I mean, my robotics team is an all girls team from all over Westchester. Those girls are like my sisters and seeing as how we made the international festival for WINNING the competition with two other teams, we're really excited. In the FIRST Tech Challenge(the one that I do) there are 5000 some odd teams, only 100 of which are all girls teams. And an even smaller percentage of those teams MAKE the world festival, because guys dominate it. Yeah, some of the guys are your 'stereotypical' nerd, with the big glasses, scrawny, and what not, but some of them are well0rounded, who play sports, who do well in school, and those are the guys whose teams do well.
But the fact that an all-girls team is scary? That's just insane. I mean, yeah we all get kind of upset about stuff that goes on in competitions, but so does every other team in FTC. So, why does an all-guys team feel the need to break our robot, which is what a team did yesterday. The referees said it wasn't intentional, which makes NO SENSE since the guys LAUGHED at us afterwards when we couldn't move.
But I mean, it's comeuppance, but they didn't make worlds, so I don't care.

*thinks, then grins*

Well, I made quite the mess of things today and I feel terrible about what happened. I really do. It was an honest mistake, and I may have lost a best friend over it.
But yeah, I've been so tired and overwhelmed with homework now, that I haven't had the time to post. It's so hard to balance school with everything else, considering that I have techno for more than 12 hours this weekend, and I'm supposed to be working on my SRC, or Safety Review Committee for Science Research? HAH. SHORE I'll have time to do that this weekend! I barely have time to eat breakfast on my way out the door.
So, I watched the movie "Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past" and it was really good. I liked it, and even though it was a play on Charles Dickens, it was still really good. Totally predictable, but so is every chick flick ever written.
I can't wait. Next weekend is Battle of the Bands, and I think I'm gonna go back to my natural hair color-blonde. I tried out red for a little bit, and I like dying my hair, but it's getting to be too expensive and too time consuming, so I'll do it one last time to get my hair back to it's normal color, and then I'm done with it.
Funny, I did the same thing last year, and I think that there's a post. It's been a little bit more than a year that I've had this blog. For anyone that's been with me from the beginning, thank you for putting up with any changes that I've made, and anything else that I've done to confuse you with the blog.
So, today's rant has to do with hair dying and the affect it has on society.
My friend Avery came up to me during track practice today and asked what color she should dye her hair. I replied with a quick and loud "NO." She looked at me oddly and then I explained myself. My reasoning is that it's time consuming, once you start, you have to go forever (or until your hair falls out), it's expensive, and you will always have to worry about root lines. The only reason that I dyed my hair in the first place was because I was bored one Saturday morning in the beginning of November. I mean, yeah, it's fun to do and it's good if you have a crappy color, but my advice is that you shouldn't even start. Getting your tips done is one thing because you can always get them cut off if they start to fade, or you can re-dye them a different color.
Unless your hair grows really fast, then don't dye your hair, and if you do, always make sure that you don't go into a pool within 72 hours, otherwise the color will run and it will look disgusting. One does not want disgusting hair.
So one of my best girlfriends has this AMAZING curly dark brown hair. I used to wish(when we were younger) that I could have her hair since it's such a nice color and texture. I have bland, almost straight hair that runs over my chest and it's a nice color, now that the red hair color is almost out.
But what I don't understand is why people feel the need to hide what they have that's nice. Color contacts, for example, take away from the natural beauty of the eye color. So what if it's brown? It doesn't make that big a deal. If your eyes are blue(like mine), all you get is "Oh my gosh! Your eye color is so pretty!" and that bothers me. I know I sound so whiny at being called pretty, but I don't want to be known as a body or any thing like that because then I feel like I'm not actually appreciated.
But it's not a big deal.

*tries to sleep*

I'm very tired lately, but still it's because of the fact that break is over and sleep is fleeting. Yeah, there's school and there's breaks, but it's tiring. The fact that schools are putting the economy over student health is sickening. Students are more likely to get to sick when they're tired, less likely to get good grades if tired, and it's much more difficult when schools are starting at 7 in the morning. Well, I'm sorry that I have to balance sports, homework, girl scouts, and robotics and be expected to get up for school in the morning so that I can do something with my life. Yeah, and throw friends and a social life in there? It's just not possible when you have to balance all of those together and be expected to get into college with the SAT's. It's very difficult to do most of the time.

But still, it's no big deal. I mean really. But now, I'm watching the Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe(the newer one) which isn't as good as the books. I also just watched the newest episode of The Legend of the Seeker, where they keep bringing god damned Denna back. I mean, she's really not that much of an intriguing character. In the books, you only see her like twice. And it's starting to bother me. As is the new Toy Story movie. GO AHEAD AND RUIN MY CHILDHOOD DISNEY! GO AHEAD AND MAKE THE THINGS THAT I LOVED ON NICK DIFFERENT! GO AHEAD AND MAKE MR. MIME EVOLVE JAPANESE POKEMON MAKERS!
They have ruined my childhood. Freddi Fish is a girl. Blue from Blue's Clues is a boy and Magenta is a girl, and there are 493 different types of Pokemon instead of the original 151. My childhood has been ruined.

Did you also know that the red, yellow and blue power rangers where strippers before they got onto the show? Yeah, it's true. Life is different now. When I was younger, Raven had to hide her secret, not Miley. And when I was younger, Pluto was a planet. Plus the Disney channel star weren't sluts like they are now. But now... It's a shame. Miley Cyrus is a spoiled bitch, Demi Lovato is a crazed person who thinks she alt-rock but only managed to get herself booed of the stage at Bamboozle(which I am going to this year). The only one of the Disney stars that I can even stand is Selena Gomez, because she makes good music when she does decide to write music.

Sigh. Anyways, onto music.

*wonders*

And I'm wondering, what are some of your new years resolutions, my dear readers? Mine is to:
A)Pass physics
B)work up the courage to ask the one guy out
c)hang out with my friends more
Well, I recently found out about this cool book called "Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side" and it's really good. I mean, the beginning is kind of creepy, but other then that, it's a really good book that keeps you wanting more throughout the entire thing. Plus, the main characters name is Antanasia, which is really pretty. I really like the name, but I'm not gonna rant.
