J-E-T-S

I'm a pretty big football fan, when it comes to the NFL. Mainly, because I'm a born and raised New York Jets fan, so I have to love them. The past few minutes, I've been sitting in my dorm room, anxiously hoping that the Jets would beat the Buffalo Bills, and lucky for me, they did.  I just thought I should let you all know that.

LOVE IT

So, I don't know if any people that I talk to in real life are here, but just so you all understand the title, I'll break it down. Whenever I see something, or someone says something that I think is really great to listen to, or really funny, I say "I love it." or "LOVE it!". It's kind of like my thing. I also say NBD or No Big a bunch, but that's really not pertinent in this context. My reason for the titles though, is that I'm really thankful to be home with all of my friends and to be able to sit and not have to worry about my bitch of a roommate.

I know I talked to all of you about remembering the true meaning of Thanksgiving, but it seems to have been lost in all of the drama that is inevitably BLACK FRIDAY. As I sit on a footstool, eating tortilla chips and really hating the new control system of  Skyward Sword (you all know of my Legend of Zelda addiction),I can't help but be excited for the tattoo I'm going to go out and get tomorrow, if my friend decides that he wants to stop being an asshat for a few hours.

While my weekend home has been pretty intense so far, with trying to catch up with people, and the constant (or as my father would argue, incessant) bickering with my mother, I have to wonder what everyone back at school is doing. While I really have almost nothing to complain about because I am lucky, it makes me wonder what everyone back at school is doing, because not everyone had the opportunity to go home for Thanksgiving. There are girls that I graduated high school with that weren't able to come home, and the soldiers who are stationed overseas aren't able to see their families, and to any one who has a brother, sister, spouse, father, mother, in-law, or friend serving in any branch of the military, I hope that this is a good holiday season for you, and I hope that who ever it may be gets home safely.

Also, if anyone serving our country does read this, thank you all so much for your hard work, dedication and loyalty, sacrifice, and determination. Like the World War 2 memorial says in DC, "Freedom isn't really free". Your sacrifice makes people like me and my family about to have the life that we do. I hope that you all make is home safely, and know that people still support you, even if they don't always show it. Have a wonderful holiday season, even if you are stationed overseas.

I Can't Wait

My life goes back to normal tomorrow afternoon when I go home, back to the city that never sleeps, which is pretty good, because neither can I. I know it's been too long since I last posted, but I wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, and make sure that you don't overlook the reason that we have the next few days away from work and school. It's because we all have something to be thankful for, even if we take advantage of it.

Just so you all know what I'm thankful for, I'll give you a list.

  1. My family-Even if we don't get along, they still stand by me, despite all of the stupid shit that I get into. They call me up to make sure that I'm alright, and they always want me to do the best that I can, even when I don't want to.
  2. My friends-Again, they stand by me, and my friends and I are close, and being separated for as long as I have is something that I can't exactly work with all the time. They make my life complete, from the facebook pictures and videos, to the late-night drunk texts and calls, and I don't know what I'd do without them.
  3. My music-As you all know, it keeps me grounded. It gives me something to draw the insanity out of my head, even when I feel like screaming and yelling.
  4. My childhood-Nobody has the perfect one, but we all do the best with what we can do. I'm glad that I don't have to grow up yet, or even all that quickly so that I can take the world and it's suckage in stride.
  5. My education-Yeah, going to school sucks, but it controls the way that we live, even if don't always see it.
  6. Being alive-I'm lucky to be from a middle-class family and that my family can provide for me in the ways that I'm not financially able to. I'm lucky to have grown up where I did, and I'm thankful that I was always given the opportunities that I wanted from life.
I hope that you all take the next few days to think about what makes you thankful and why. It's not always what we think it is, but let Thanksgiving help you reconnect with your family, give thanks, and forgive anyone whose done anything against you. This is the time to think about the past year, and think of ways that you can better yourself for the next year. If you get in a little Black Friday shopping, then I hope you get all that you want.

I won't give you guys any music tonight, just because I'm way to lazy, and I'm actually supposed to be studying for a test that I'm taking in like 8 hours.

A Ponderance

To all of you that have read this blog before, you know how much I love to watch television shows that get me thinking, and Fringe has definitely done it. It's kind of an old show, syndicated by FOX Network, but produced by the King of Science Fiction-J.J. Abhrams, whose genius is not lost on this show. It follows FBI Agents Olivia Dunham, who stumbles onto a new kind of science while investigating the crashing of an airplane, which leads her to a scientist named Walter Bishop, put into a mental institution because one of his experiments lead to the death of a young girl. His song, Peter is the only person who can understand what Walter is thinking, and with the help of a young agent named Astrid, the group works together trying to work on a series of events known only as "The Pattern". Walter was a specialist in fringe science before he was institutionalized, which was 17 years prior, causing him to miss most of Peter's life, which ultimately leads to some friction between the relationship that the two of them have. It's one of the only shows that makes it impossible for me to detect whose behind everything from watching the first couple minutes of the show, and the writers do such a fantastic job with the twists that they throw at the viewers.
If I had to rate it, I would definitely give it a 4.5 out of 5, simply because the way that the characters are developed, plus the way that some of the story arcs are put into the show, some are never resolved, and some are over too quickly.

If you've read this blog before, you would also know my feelings about the Twilight Saga, and how much it pisses me off. I have to say that Christina Perry has written a beautiful song to be the theme of the fourth movie. If you haven't seen the commercials, then you've probably never heard the song before, but then again, you're probably also living under a rock, and have thusly never heard of Twilight. For all of you who HAVE seen the commercial for the fourth movie, you've heard a snippet of the new song, entitled "For A Thousand Years" and it's actually amazing. I've had it on repeat for the past few hours because it's so enchanting. It's like that song that helps you get to sleep, but you don't want to while listening to it because it's so beautiful. I'm not really even a huge fan of hers, but this song is pure gold.

So, that's really the only song I have for you right now, but I hope that you all like it.

deuces.
